Show and Tell Monday~Rescue Me Pets

Today I thought I would feature a new blog that I think is a wonderful service. Its at http://www.rescuemepets.blogspot.com/ . A friend of mine started this new blog in hopes that it will get the message out about shelters and rescues that are in need of publicity. One would have to be an ant under a rock not to know of all the unpleasant economic news. It starts at the top and just keeps trickling down. All the way to loving little dogs and cats. These are some of the economic victims you probably dont think of right away. But with so many people loosing their jobs and homes the animal shelters are filling up at an alarming rate. I know for myself I am facing unemployment very soon. Alot of my friends have stepped up to say not to worry if I need a place, I am always welcome, BUT you cant bring your cats. I love my well meaning friends. But I say this just to illustrate the problem. People are being made to make huge life changing choices, and sometimes they just arent able to take care of their pets too. So if you know of any such organization I am sure Suzanne would love to hear from you. She is doing a wonderful thing! I wish her much success.

I like to keep my blog a positive and creative place. But I also believe it has come a time in America for us to serve. Anyway we can. Its going to take all of us to put it back together again. Thanks for listening..... hugs, gail

How true Gail. I have to say I hadn't thought of it myself until I realized I would have to be downsizing. Well, I can't go to an apartment with 2 dogs, a cat and a parrot. To those of us who love our pets and have made them a part of our lives, this is a heart rending decision to have to make.

How thoughtful and so YOU! Pets are suffering economic times too. My daughter always buys the roosters and dogs bags of food when she goes to the third world countries, the animals are starving too! I am not a pet lover as much since the kids are gone, its nice that you are so caring with them.

what a lovely thought to reflect an animal shelter blog. Over here the RSPCA has had an increase of animals as you said of people who can no longer afford to keep them These charities all need are support.

Good idea to post about the animals and shelters. You're right, most of us don't think about the animals being left behind in this economy. And,beautiful jewelry!

Great post Gail! Awareness is so important & even if you can't adopt a pet, the shelters could use donations of ANY kind. A small bag of pet food, pet supplies and even your time. Thanks for the link to your friends blog, it's so pretty & I love the upbeat music.
You are a GREAT friend!

So true my friend so true. I support 3 different bunny rescue sites. Everyone is suffering right now. I hate that so many have to make such terrible decisions regarding where to live and if they can keep their best friends. It makes me angry and cry at the same time. I think I would live in a camper before I could give up the buns. Everything else is just stuff, the buns are my family.
Thinking of you and keeping you and the kitties in my prayers. Hang in there kiddo.

Gail I can't imagine having to make that a decision such as that. Loosing a pet. It would be awful. It's very sweet of you to feature your friend and her mission. Thank You!
